What are button shirts? A dress shirt, blouse, button top, button front, dress-to-the-floor, button front shirt, dress-to-the-waist, or dress-to-the-top shirt is a long garment with an open front and a collar, which are loosely pinned with buttons or sometimes threaded along the edges. One of the advantages of button down dress shirts is that they are very easy to iron. Many button down shirts are made of a special fabric that buttons easily when the button is pulled down. While shirts often come in white or blue as standard, these can easily be dyed to match a person’s color of clothing if so desired. A person who prefers to wear shirts that button down will find that there are a number of retailers that offer a wide variety of neckties and button down shirts. The availability of a large number of options ensures that each person can find a dress shirt that fits properly.
It is important to note, however, that not all shirts that have button holes are considered dress shirts. Often times, this includes sweatshirts worn by professional athletes. Professional sports teams often choose to wear sleeveless tees, shirts that run just below the cuff and reach to the mid-thigh area. These types of tees are frequently referred to as sweat shirts and are worn during practice and games to prevent the build up of sweat that can result in bad body odor.
The ease of maintenance is another advantage of wearing a dress shirt with a button hole. A person can easily replace a button either by himself or with the help of a friend or family member. For many people, this is an important feature of a dress shirt. For example, a person who works in an office may need to remove his shirt after each work period or he may want to wear a loose fitting button down shirt without worrying about having it get caught up in his work clothes. In many cases, men prefer to remove their button down shirts during the day because they tend to get stitched up more easily than women’s designs.
Another advantage is that a button down shirt can be easily laundered. This means that a person who works in a business where he or she must take a short vacation away from the office will not have to worry about being dressed for work. Anyone with a button hole can simply take off their shirt and hang it in a washer and dryer. In many cases, this eliminates the need to iron the shirt. Once it has been cleaned and pressed, it can then be returned to the office and put on again the following day.
These shirts are also easy to care for. A simple button wash with a mild detergent should be sufficient. In some cases, a washing machine might be necessary to get all of the stains out of a shirt. However, most people find this advantage to be worth the few extra minutes it takes to dry the shirts.
